We are looking for a skilled Forklift Operator to join our bustling distribution center in Portland, Oregon. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move goods.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other vehicles.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other items to and from production and storage areas.
- Conduct daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and clean warehouse environment, free from hazards.
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.
- Participate in inventory counts and assist with stock management.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Support the overall logistics and supply chain processes of the company.
- Comply with all company regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center environment.
- Certification for forklift operation is required.
- Ability to handle substantial lifting, typically up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Proficiency in logistics and inventory management systems is a plus.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be reliable and punctual, with a strong commitment to safety.
- Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings.
