Job Summary:
Our dynamic distribution center in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist. This vital role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, which is crucial for efficient logistics and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing procedures to maintain optimal inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a meticulous approach to tasks, and a thorough understanding of inventory management systems and warehouse operations. Safety is a priority, so adherence to all safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques and the mandatory use of PPE, is essential. You will work closely with operational teams to support seamless supply chain functions.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain precise inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Monitor stock levels, reporting on stock movements and potential shortages or overages.
  • Ensure proper storage, organization, and rotation of inventory.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Process inventory adjustments and transfers accurately.
  • Support receiving and shipping departments by ensuring inventory accuracy for all transactions.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper lifting procedures and the use of appropriate PPE.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and provide insights to management for process improvements.
  • Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of logistics operations.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in inventory control or a similar role within a warehouse environment.
  • Proficiency with WMS software and inventory tracking methods.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of warehouse logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, including the use of PPE and safe lifting practices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
