We are looking for a motivated Material Handler to join our warehouse team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a Material Handler, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient movement of goods throughout our facility. Your duties will include receiving, stocking, order picking, packing, and preparing items for shipment. This role demands physical stamina, a keen eye for detail, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. You will work as part of a larger logistics network, contributing to the timely and accurate delivery of products. Prior experience with forklifts or other warehouse equipment is advantageous, but we provide thorough training. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within the logistics sector.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload trailers and containers.
- Inspect incoming goods for damage and verify quantities against documentation.
- Stock inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Accurately pick customer orders using scanning equipment or pick lists.
- Package items securely for shipment.
- Label outgoing shipments and stage them for carrier pickup.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts.
- Follow all instructions related to proper PPE usage.
Requirements:
- Must be able to perform regular Lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures and general logistics practices.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in tasks.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Good communication abilities.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Commitment to adhering to safety guidelines and wearing necessary PPE.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
