Production Supervisor

**$1,000 sign on bonus ($250 paid at 3 months of employment & $250 paid at 6 months of employment & $500 paid at 1 year of employment)

PAY

This position pays $23.50 plus an additional $.50 cent for shift differential.

SHIFT

Shift hours are 10:30p-7:00am with flexibility to report early and work past scheduled shift time as needed; in addition this position requires working every Sunday for master sanitation

JOB SUMMARY

The Production Supervisor will ensure that the production line is operating efficiently and effectively in order to produce a quality, safe food product. The production supervisor will directly supervise and coordinate the activities of all production workers. The production supervisor will follow all safety guidelines and food manufacturing regulations to ensure that safe, quality products are being produced at all times. Responsible for plant sanitation, including maintaining facilities and equipment.

POSITION DUTIES:

• Position Duties/ Responsibilities:
• Plan and establish work assignments of employees to meet production goals
• Direct and coordinate the activities of employees to ensure production goals being met
• Read and analyze production schedules, manufacturing orders/recipes and other records/reports to determine production requirements and evaluate production output
• Enforce safety and sanitation guidelines
• Monitors production line to ensure running efficiently
• Observe and follow up with employees to ensure duties/responsibilities are done accurately
• Assist employees when needed with their duties to ensure production goals are met
• Have a strong and sound working knowledge of all machinery on production floor; must be able to work in all positions on the production floor
• Inspect machine and equipment for operating efficiency; detect hazards, malfunctions, defects
• Maintain product quality and integrity by checking for irregularities and deficiencies
• Assures food safety standards with regards to GMP's and HAACP plan are followed at all times
• Maintains neat and clean work area at all times
• Coach, mentor and guide employees regarding company policies, procedures, and work responsibilities
• Ensure sanitation of all production areas
• Break down all corrugated and dispose of all refuse during production
• Maintain daily drain cleaning program
• Maintain clean restrooms and break-room
• Responsible for maintaining compacter area
• Maintain cleanliness of work area
• Follow all sanitation standard operation procedures
• Follow all plant safety regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• 3-5 years of production supervisor experience in food manufacturing setting preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer-based applications.
• High school diploma or GED
• Technical training
• Previous lead or supervisor experience working in manufacturing setting required

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of machinery and tools used for maintenance and repair
• Knowledge of food production / manufacturing process
• Ability to monitor and assess situations; take corrective action; problem solving
• Must move with sense of urgency; time management skills are essential
• Must be detailed oriented; effective communicator and active listener
• Leadership ability required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to think, comprehend and retain large amounts of information
• Keen observation and evaluation ability
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure
• Ability to work under minimal supervisor; self motivated to produce results

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Will work in environment where safety precautions are required to be followed
• Protective gear such as gloves, work boots and smocks required at all times
• Will work around moving machinery
• Temperature varies from 39-45 degrees

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Light to moderate physical effort required
• Required to walk, stand, bend for long periods of time throughout the day
• Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs

Will be expected to perform other related duties and assignments requested or directed.
