Community Education Coordinator
and help us support people navigating life with epilepsy.
What You'll Do
As a Community Education Coordinator, you will work as a front-line advocate and provide support for individuals affected by epilepsy by increasing epilepsy awareness and educating the public about seizures. You will:
- Teach individuals how to recognize seizures and provide appropriate first aid in schools and other community organizations.
- Provide age-appropriate programs about epilepsy in classrooms throughout western Pennsylvania.
- Plan and lead educational events including workshops, webinars, and conferences.
- Represent the EAWCP at community events, school programs, and awareness campaigns.
- Contribute creative ideas to our social media presence and public outreach efforts.
- Collaborate with a dedicated team on organization-wide events, outreach, and advocacy.

The EAWCP is a mission-driven nonprofit committed to improving the lives of people affected by epilepsy. Through local programs, education, and community engagement, we help individuals and families build confidence, find connections, and thrive despite the challenges of epilepsy.
Headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, with an additional office in Camp Hill, the EAWCP is proud to be part of Epilepsy Alliance America. Our team is passionate, inclusive, and committed to building a future where no family faces epilepsy alone.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking passionate and proactive team players who are:
- Inspired by working with children, families, and individuals with special needs
- Self-starters with strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable working in both independent and team settings
- Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends for community events
- Flexible, enthusiastic, and ready to bring fresh ideas to the table
- Mission-driven and excited to engage directly with families and community groups
Qualifications:
- Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Must be willing and able to commute to our office in Pittsburgh and local community sites
- Preferred Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience in social services, education, healthcare, or a related field
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time, General Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Evening and weekend availability required for events and meetings
- Office-based with occasional remote flexibility
- Work includes travel to community presentations and events (mileage reimbursement provided)
