Company Overview
Ambler Metals is exploring the highly prospective Ambler Mining District in Alaska, home to some of the world's richest known copper-dominant polymetallic deposits (Upper Kobuk Mineral Projects - UKMP).
Position Purpose
This role focuses on managerial accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and performance reporting. It supports decision-making by providing insights into financial performance and operational efficiency. This role is also accountable for banking, payroll and management of external stakeholders i.e. employee benefit vendors, general vendor support, local government, state and federal agencies etc.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
· Manage outsourced functions such as banking, employee benefits, vendors, etc.
· Manage the treasury function, tracking liquidity and coordinating cash calls from members
· Manage the daily operations of the accounting department
· Manage and mentor the accounting staff (payroll, accounts payable, etc.)
· Prepare the monthly financial management reports and support the reporting requirements of the members
· Collaborate with all departments to optimize cost control and efficiency
· Assist VP Finance with financial planning and performance reviews
· Prepare the financial reporting packages for the members
· Assist the Vice President Finance in the preparation of the annual budgets
· Support the Vice President Finance in ad hoc reporting and projects as necessary
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or relevant discipline
- 8+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience (major company or division of a large corporation)
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is an asset
Skills
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
· Skill in presenting information clearly and in a tactful manner
· Skill in problem solving and establishing collaborative relationships
· Strong working knowledge of Sage 300, Microsoft Office and internal control systems
· Ability to work independently as well as take direction from supervisor
· Ability to be flexible with time and methods and adaptable to change
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties and tasks
· Ability to work in a confidential manner
· Ability to exercise good judgement
Experience
- Minimum 8 years' experience in accounting and finance, including managerial experience, internal controls, financial reporting, corporate tax preparation, payroll, and budgeting
Working Conditions
- In-office position based in Anchorage, Alaska
- Standard business hours; rare evening or weekend work
- Prolonged periods working at a desk/computer
- Must be able to move up to 15 pounds (supplies, equipment, gear)
