Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic food service environment, whether in a restaurant, catering, or healthcare setting. The Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals that meet dietary and nutritional guidelines, ensuring excellent food presentation and customer satisfaction.

Duties

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to menu specifications and dietary requirements
• Assist with menu planning to ensure balanced and appealing meal options
• Maintain proper food handling procedures in compliance with safety regulations
• Execute food preparation tasks including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients using knife skills
• Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner for service periods
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including sanitation of utensils and equipment
• Assist with catering events or special meal services as needed
• Serve meals to customers or clients in a professional and courteous manner
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to management

Experience
Candidates should have relevant experience in the food industry, including but not limited to:

• Dietary department experience or dietary aide experience preferred
• Fine dining or restaurant experience highly desirable
• Proven skills in food preparation, cooking, and food service operations
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
• Experience with menu planning and meal preparation for diverse dietary needs
• Culinary experience that demonstrates proficiency with knife skills and cooking techniques
• Background in catering or large-scale food service is a plus
