Paint Store Associate

Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and knowledgeable Paint Sales Associate to join our retail team. This role involves assisting customers with their paint and home improvement needs, providing product demonstrations, and ensuring an excellent shopping experience. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, retail sales experience, and a passion for customer service. Bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve diverse clientele.

Duties

• Greet customers and assist them in selecting the right paint products and supplies for their projects
• Provide product demonstrations and explain features, benefits, and application techniques
• Upsell additional products and accessories to enhance customer satisfaction and sales
• Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring product availability
• Operate the POS system accurately for transactions, including cashiering and cash handling
• Manage inventory levels through stock replenishment and merchandising strategies
• Offer exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries with professionalism and courtesy
• Assist with basic store operations such as cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a welcoming environment
• Support promotional activities and participate in product demos or special events as needed

Qualifications

• Previous retail sales experience preferred, especially in home improvement or grocery store environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively
• Basic math skills for handling transactions, retail math, and inventory management
• Experience with POS systems, cashiering, and cash handling procedures
• Supervising experience is a plus for leadership opportunities within the team
• Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve a diverse customer base
• Knowledge of paint products or home improvement supplies is advantageous but not required
• Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for customer interactions
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced retail setting while maintaining attention to detail
