DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service & Satisfaction

  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service.
  • Assist Store Director with total store CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) and communicate resolutions to customers.
  • Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via phone, intercom announcements, and one-on-one interactions.
  • Answer incoming calls and resolve customer complaints promptly.
  • Close the loop between customer and employee relations by addressing critiques of store and/or employees.

Store Operations & Sales

  • Assist with total store operations, including implementing Company and Division merchandising, operating, and sales initiatives.
  • Drive sales, achieve gross profit goals, and manage expenses.
  • Plan daily operations and monitor production processes for compliance and profitability.
  • Communicate with Operations Specialists to execute sales promotions and division programs.
  • Meet weekly with department managers to review ads, sales plans, and store promotions; ensure alternate manager conducts meetings in Store Director's absence.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure implementation of Company safety and health initiatives; emphasize compliance in all work practices.
  • Maintain integrity in food safety and sanitation practices across all departments.
  • Review training and ensure compliance with:
  • Food Safety and Sanitation
  • HIPAA
  • COBC (Code of Business Conduct)
  • Meat Grinding and Tracking Log
  • Texas Workplace Benefits Plan Manager
  • Food Handlers Manager
  • Enforce proper code dating for all products.
  • Ensure compliance with scheduling initiatives, payroll guidelines, Time Clock Policy, benefit plans, child labor laws, and all employment regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records consistent with law and retention policies.
  • Comply with grooming standards and dress code.

Staffing & Leadership

  • Assist with staffing, recruiting, hiring, and training.
  • Evaluate employee performance and assist with personnel decisions (promotions, terminations, disciplinary actions).
  • Identify training needs for key employees and ensure completion.
  • Resolve employee relations issues (discrimination, harassment, legal violations) with HR guidance.
  • Build and maintain positive employee morale.
  • Safeguard confidentiality of employees, store sales, and Company information.
  • Provide clear guidance and instruction to managers, supervisors, and employees.

Financial & Inventory Control

  • Oversee compliance with cash handling procedures, accounting of sales, and safeguarding Company assets.
  • Control shrink and maintain inventory levels per Division guidelines.
  • Develop operating budgets and control in-store operating, maintenance, and supply costs.
  • Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 4 weeks.
  • Ensure accurate inventory of merchandise, supplies, and equipment.
  • Understand and analyze reports (P&L, S&P, invoices, etc.).
  • Supervise reclamation processing and maintain orderly backroom conditions.

Store Conditions & Merchandising

  • Maintain good store conditions, product quality, rotation, labeling standards, and code date compliance.
  • Conduct daily inspections and coach employees on improvements.
  • Ensure merchandise is correctly priced, displayed, and shelves are clean and maintained.
  • Recommend equipment and building repairs or improvements.
  • Implement emergency procedures for equipment/software malfunctions.

Community & Vendor Relations

  • Create and maintain positive community relations.
  • Develop and maintain communication with manufacturer representatives, Store, Division, and Corporate personnel.
  • Monitor market conditions, trends, and competitor activities.
  • Maintain good rapport with vendors and Warehouse.

Technical & Administrative

  • Operate related equipment (pallet jack, hand truck, safety cutters, Sterilox machine).
  • Perform receiving duties: break down loads, verify orders, inspect quality, report shortages, stock and rotate products.
  • Ensure compliance with temperature guidelines, labeling laws, and federal/state regulations.
  • Operate computer software and electronic ordering devices; basic knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and email required.
  • Complete required reports and administrative paperwork accurately.

General

  • Perform all duties safely, accurately, and with integrity.
  • Treat all employees consistently, fairly, and with Courtesy, Dignity, and Respect.
  • Other necessary and required duties as assigned.

Pay Transparency:

Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis.

  • For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.
