Summary

Operates injection molding machines which mold thermoplastic and thermosetting plastics into products for world class electronic connector use.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor molding machines (1–5 units).
  • Add/remove materials from machine bin.
  • Clean and maintain machines daily.
  • Clean and de-flash molds.
  • Monitor machines/products for quality.
  • Rework or sort red-tagged products.
  • May be required to execute machine setup and mold changes.
  • Load/unload hoppers and perform machine startup/shutdown.
  • Read/interprets blueprints, safety rules, and operating instructions.
  • Use measuring tools daily.
  • Maintain daily production records
  • Adhere to all safety and health policies.
  • Uphold Positronic's standards of integrity, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or the safety coordinator.
  • Collaborate with the EHS department to meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA, and Amphenol sustainability practices.
  • Work with the Quality department to ensure compliance with AS9100 certification standards.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1–3 months experience (preferred)
  • Must pass appropriate testing to advance in the ABC program

Physical

  • Long periods of standing, occasional walking
  • Occasionally bends, stoops, kneels, pulls
  • Frequently pushes and reaches
  • High hand and finger dexterity required
  • Occasionally lifts and carries 0–20 lbs.
  • Safety glasses required constantly
  • Cut-resistant gloves worn frequently
  • All other PPE worn as necessary

Shift: Second Shift (M-W 5:00pm - 5:30am)

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a production environment with frequent exposure to non-harmful fumes (e.g., melted plastic). Occasionally exposed to above average noise levels, gas, dust, and chemicals. Proper PPE such as safety glasses are required.

  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and equipment function.
  • Proficient in English language for reading instructions, safety rules, and documentation.

Skills

  • Skilled in observing and responding to machine output for quality assurance.
  • Strong attention to detail when inspecting, assembling, or sorting parts.
  • Effective communication with supervisors and team members.
  • Able to accurately follow instructions, blueprints, and production documents.
  • Efficient time management to meet production goals and machine cycles.

Abilities

  • Steady hand and arm control for repetitive machine tasks.
  • Dexterity and coordination to handle small components and technical tools.
  • Physical flexibility for bending, stretching, and lifting light to moderate loads.
  • Ability to quickly respond to machine signals or changes in output.
  • Capability to focus on repetitive tasks without losing attention to quality.
