About the Role

The Staff Development Coordinator (SDC-RN or LPN) at CarDon and Associates plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of nursing care through comprehensive staff education and training programs. This position is responsible for assessing the educational needs of associates and developing tailored training initiatives that promote clinical excellence and compliance with healthcare standards. The coordinator ensures that all associates are proficient in current best practices, infection control protocols, and case management techniques. By fostering continuous professional development, this role directly contributes to improved resident outcomes and a safer care environment. The Staff Development Coordinator also collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to integrate educational strategies that support organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evaluate ongoing educational programs for associates to maintain and enhance clinical competencies.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in knowledge and skills among associates and develop targeted training solutions.
  • Monitor compliance with infection control standard protocols through training and associate support.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to associates on case management practices and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with healthcare leadership to align staff development initiatives with organizational policies and regulatory guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of infection control practices and case management.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively deliver training and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in developing and implementing educational programs for healthcare associates.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Leadership experience in staff education or clinical coordination roles.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' clinical nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care setting.
