What We're Building

CMMD is a unified platform that replaces dozens of fragmented tools with one intelligent command center for tasks, projects, meetings, communication, strategy, AI-powered insights, and more.

We're in MVP build phase—shipping fast, tightening architecture, and turning vision into a working product.

The Role

We need a builder who shows up and cranks.

Someone who:

• Hits the ground running on day one
• Takes handoffs and executes without constant direction
• Ships features across the full stack
• Works directly with the founder to increase velocity

This isn't a "wait for tickets" role. This is a "build with ownership" role.

What You'll Work On

• Frontend + backend development across CMMD's core apps (Tasks, Projects, Meetings, Comms, Dashboard, and more)
• AI-assisted workflows using Cursor IDE (strongly preferred)
• Multi-tenant SaaS architecture (organization-scoped data, isolation patterns)
• Shipping real features and improving speed, usability, and architecture
• Collaborating on product decisions with deep context into how the system works

Tech Stack

You must be comfortable working across:

Frontend

• React + TypeScript
• Modern UI libraries (Tailwind, component systems)
• Deployment: Vercel

Backend

• / Express / TypeScript
• PostgreSQL (with ORM experience)
• WebSocket for real-time features
• Deployment: Railway

Workflow

• Git / GitHub (feature branches, PRs)
• Cursor IDE (AI-assisted development - this is how we build)
• Multi-tenant application patterns

Our stack includes: Drizzle ORM, Redis, Neon (serverless Postgres), Pinecone (vector search), AWS S3, and AI provider integrations (OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI). You don't need to know all of these upfront, but you should be excited to learn and work with modern tools.

We care more about drive, curiosity, and execution than checking every box on a résumé.

Important Expectations

Contract role — Monthly engagement starting at $8,000/month with potential to extend as CMMD grows
Local preferred — Hybrid OK to start, but in-person collaboration is expected over time
Startup pace — Velocity matters; we ship, iterate, and improve quickly
2-week paid trial — $2,000 to test fit before full monthly contract commitment

Compensation & Structure

Monthly rate: $8,000/month for 30–40 hrs/week
(That's $50–67/hr depending on your availability)

Initial engagement with potential to extend month-to-month as CMMD grows.

We're flexible on the exact hourly arrangement within that range. The priority is momentum and the right fit.

• Link 1–2 projects you've shipped where you owned a feature end-to-end (frontend + backend). What did you build?
• What's your realistic availability for the next 8 weeks (hrs/week)?
• Have you used Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar AI coding tools? If not, are you willing to adopt immediately?
• Are you local to Glendora/Greater LA and open to in-person collaboration and possible Full Time hired roles over time?
• Have you worked on multi-tenant SaaS applications? Explain if so. (Nice-to-have, not required)
• Walk me through how you'd approach building a feature you've never built before. What's your process when you don't know the answer?
• CMMD is in MVP phase. We need to move fast, but we can't ship garbage. How do you decide when 'good enough' is actually good enough?
• This isn't a 9-5 job. Sometimes you'll need to work nights or weekends to hit a deadline. Sometimes I'll Slack you at 11pm with an idea. How do you feel about that?
