Position Summary

The Payroll/HR Coordinator is responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing, managing employee data, and complying with relevant regulations, including certified payroll reports and compliance with prevailing wage laws.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll ensuring that employees are paid properly and in a timely manner.

  • Ensure information related to payroll deductions and other pay is entered accurately.

  • Handle employee garnishments and earnings verifications in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with legal requirements and Company policy.

  • Process all payroll-related information in compliance with federal, state and local laws and company policy.

  • Work with and through others to obtain compliance with payroll timelines and procedures.

  • Prepare and file weekly certified payroll reports, ensuring compliance with prevailing wage regulations.

  • Ensure payroll records are retained in an efficient organized manner in accordance with legal requirements and Company record retention policy.

  • Coordinate hourly recruiting activities: postings, interview scheduling, background and pre-employment steps.

  • Run new-hire onboarding, I-9/E-Verify, new-hire checklists, and benefits enrollment support.

  • Maintain complete confidentiality of employee information.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Experience & Education

  • 2 years of payroll experience using computerized payroll, prevailing wage, and certified payroll

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, organizational skills, and the ability to work under deadline

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word

  • Valid driver's license (required)

  • Must pass a preemployment drug screen and background check (required)
