Job Summary:
The Residential Construction Engineer will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing construction processes, with a strong emphasis on BuilderTrend and Vista project management software. This role requires close collaboration with Project Managers (PMs) and other stakeholders to ensure projects are executed efficiently.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in residential construction, project management, or a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in BuilderTrend, Vista, or similar project management software.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail.
- Knowledge of construction materials and methods is preferred.
- Self-motivated and able to prioritize work based on deadlines.
- Must have an approved driving record, valid driver's license, and meet insurability standards.
- Must have an approved background check.
- Must maintain a substance-free working environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:
BuilderTrend Process Management:
- Oversee BuilderTrend processes, ensuring that Project Managers (PMs) are trained and consistently utilizing the system.
- Maintain and update BuilderTrend templates and processes to improve scheduling, communication, and project management efficiency.
Contract and Job Closeout Management:
- Create and send contracts to clients.
- Develop and manage comprehensive job closeout processes.
- Ensure that all necessary closeout documentation, punch lists, and other final project requirements are completed promptly.
Vista Project Management:
- Set up new projects in Vista, including project creation, estimate imports, and change order management.
- Approve AP Invoices, manage subcontracts, and support the billing process.
- Coordinate with Project Managers on monthly report reviews and provide necessary support.
Preconstruction Planning:
- Develop and maintain preconstruction calendars, checklists, and trackers.
- Assist in creating, managing, and communicating project schedules with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Project Management Support:
- Assist Project Managers in ensuring projects align with plans and specifications, manage change orders, and maintain project documentation.
- Collaborate with the team to improve templates and communication processes.
Estimation Assistance:
- Gather relevant data, perform calculations, and contribute to the development of accurate cost estimates.
- Potentially assist with client selections and other estimating tasks.
Project Documentation and Communication:
- Maintain thorough familiarity with assigned project plans and specifications.
- Publish weekly progress reports, attend project meetings, and maintain project logs.
- Collaborate on project schedules, milestones, and deadlines with Project Managers.
