Duties

• Prepare ingredients and assist with food assembly according to established recipes and standards
• Cook menu items with precision, ensuring quality, presentation, and timely service
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
• Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and sanitation practices
• Support catering and special event meal preparations as needed
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools efficiently to keep the kitchen organized and operational
• Assist with inventory management by rotating stock and notifying supervisors of supplies needed

Requirements

• Previous experience in a food industry setting such as restaurant, catering, or dietary department is preferred
• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and food safety standards is essential
• Strong knife skills and familiarity with meal preparation are highly desirable
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks comfortably
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward serving customers and supporting colleagues
• Basic understanding of dietary aide practices or dietary department experience is a plus
• Willingness to learn new skills related to menu planning, food handling, and kitchen operations
