Role Description
The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all human resources functions at the manufacturing facility, including recruitment, weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing, employee relations, performance management, training, compliance, and safety initiatives. This role partners closely with plant leadership to foster a high-performance culture, ensure legal compliance, and support operational goals.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Retention
· Lead recruitment efforts for hourly and salaried positions.
· Develop onboarding programs to ensure smooth integration of new hires.
· Implement retention strategies to reduce turnover.
Employee Relations
· Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR-related matters.
· Investigate and resolve employee complaints and conflicts.
· Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Payroll Administration
· Oversee and process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
· Ensure accurate timekeeping, wage calculations, and deductions.
· Maintain compliance with wage and hour laws and internal policies.
· Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams for payroll reporting and audits.
· Address payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Compliance & Policy Management
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (e.g., OSHA, FMLA, ADA).
· Maintain and update employee handbook and HR policies.
· Manage audits and reporting requirements.
Performance Management & Development
· Oversee performance review processes and goal setting.
· Identify training needs and coordinate employee development programs.
· Support succession planning and leadership development.
Compensation & Benefits
· Administer compensation programs and benefits enrollment.
· Partner with leadership on annual merit increases.
Health, Safety & Wellness
· Collaborate with EHS teams to promote workplace safety.
· Support wellness initiatives and employee assistance programs.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
· 5+ years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
· Strong knowledge of employment laws, payroll systems, and HR best practices.
· Experience with weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing and timekeeping systems (e.g., ADP, Kronos, Pay Pro).
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
· Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
· PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
Working Conditions:
· On-site at the manufacturing facility.
· May require occasional travel to other sites.
· Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
