Join us in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism. Damar is currently seeking a talented, motivated and detail oriented Cook to join our team As a Cook, you would prepare meals from scratch and cook items in batches, load food carts, and ensure the kitchen and equipment is maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.  

Shifts available :

  • Monday-Friday 4:30a-1:00p, 5:00a-2:00p +2 weekends/month (Saturday & Sunday)

  • Have a part in preparing and providing all meals for our clients and staff
  • Review and accurately follow meal count information to ensure client safety
  • Assist in maintaining the kitchen and equipment in a clean and sanitary manner

What you need to be considered...

  • Be at least 18
  • Prior work in a high volume kitchen preferred, but not required.
  • Valid driver's license strongly preferred.
  • Successfully complete a pre-employment screening and physical.
  • Favorably meet and maintain Damar's background screening
  • Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal offenses

Essential Job Functions:

Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 50lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
