Heavy Equipment Operator

About the Role:
Tarheel Bark is seeking a reliable Heavy Equipment Operator to join our mulch, soil, and compost production team. This position plays a key role in operating machinery, maintaining production flow, and supporting daily yard operations.

Responsibilities:

• Operate a wheel loader, excavator, dozer, hammer mill grinder, and various screening equipment (trommel or deck screen).
• Color mulch and operate front-end loaders as needed.
• Work as part of a manufacturing/processing team.
• Follow supervisor instructions to meet daily production goals.
• Maintain assigned equipment and report issues as needed.
• Comply with all safety rules, procedures, and company standards.
• Perform additional yard or production tasks as assigned.

Schedule & Pay:

• Full-time, 40-50 hours/week; paid overtime available.
• Additional Saturday overtime opportunities.
• Starting pay: $17/hour, higher based on experience.

Qualifications

• Experience preferred but not required-training provided.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk most of the shift.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Comfortable working outdoors in a production environment.
