Job Overview
Biryani Grill is hiring friendly and professional Servers to deliver excellent guest service in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant, ensuring a welcoming dining experience through attentive service, accurate order handling, and a strong focus on guest satisfaction. Experience with various POS systems and food handling procedures is preferred, along with a passion for hospitality and food industry standards. This role offers an opportunity to develop your skills in customer service, food presentation, and restaurant operations within a fine dining or casual setting.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and provide friendly, attentive table service
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system
- Deliver food and beverages in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience and address concerns promptly
- Properly check IDs before serving alcoholic beverages and follow responsible alcohol service guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and dining areas
- Practice suggestive selling to upsell food and beverage options when appropriate
- Process guest payments accurately and handle cash responsibly
- Work closely with bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards at all times
Qualifications
- Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of food, beverages, and menu items
- Understanding of responsible alcohol service practices
- TIPS certification required or ability to obtain upon hire
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, including fine dining or nightclub settings
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Square POS, Toast POS, or OpenTable for order entry and processing
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests effectively
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Upselling techniques to promote menu items and increase sales opportunities
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Basic math skills for billing, cash handling, and transaction accuracy
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Previous experience in serving, bussing, or host/host roles is advantageous
- Hospitality mindset with a focus on guest relations and creating positive dining experiences
