We have an opening for a Shipping Clerk in our Miami, Florida distribution center. This role is key to ensuring that all outbound shipments are processed accurately and on time, contributing to the efficiency of our logistics operations. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for creating shipping labels, preparing documentation, coordinating with carriers, and staging orders for pickup. A keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to safety and the proper use of PPE are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Generate and print shipping labels and relevant documentation for all outgoing orders.
- Verify order accuracy against shipping manifests and customer orders.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL).
- Package items securely to prevent damage during transit, utilizing appropriate materials.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks to move shipments.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shipping dock and staging areas.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure timely processing of orders.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of mandated PPE .
- Assist with loading shipments onto trucks when necessary.
- Perform quality control checks on all outgoing shipments.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a general warehouse role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and basic computer skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Capability to perform tasks involving standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Understanding of logistics principles and shipping procedures.
- Commitment to following all safety guidelines and wearing required PPE .
