The Recovery Support Worker provides individualized, recovery-focused support to women in our Transitional Housing program who are experiencing poverty, homelessness, mental health challenges, addictions, and other intersectional barriers.
This role is responsible for supporting the development of recovery service plans, delivering both individual and group addiction-focused support, and connecting client with community services that align with their goals. Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team and in partnership with community agencies and services, the Recovery Support Worker helps clients achieve stability, strengthen their recovery and transition to long-term housing.
This position is on-site within the Transitional Housing program and follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Provide trauma‑informed, client‑centered, recovery‑oriented support
- Collaborate with clients to set goals for wellness and housing stability
- Co‑create individualized recovery plans focused on safety and achievable steps
- Deliver 1:1 psychosocial intervention using evidence‑informed approaches
- Facilitate or co‑facilitate recovery, wellness, and coping‑skills groups
- Build clients' life skills, confidence, self‑efficacy, and social connections
- Respond to crises and work with internal teams to maintain safety
- Support discharge and aftercare planning for successful transitions
- Assist with day‑to‑day program operations (front desk, breaks, housekeeping, inventory).
- Help clients navigate health, housing, income, and social service systems
- Maintain strong relationships with external service providers
- Advocate for equitable access and inclusion for all clients
- Support clients with appointments, referrals, and understanding options
- Participate in case consultations and collaborative service planning
- Identify service gaps and recommend improvements
- Maintain accurate, clear, timely, and objective case notes
- Track client progress, service usage, and outcomes
- Support data collection for program evaluation and funder reporting
- Attend team meetings, supervision, and professional development
- Contribute to ongoing program planning and improvements
- Follow organizational policies, procedures, and ethical standards
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Degree or Diploma in Social Work or Addiction Services, or a directly related degree in human services
- Minimum 3 years' experience working with individuals affected by gender-based violence, mental health, addictions, homelessness or housing instability and poverty
- Specialized training in intervention models such as harm reduction and relapse prevention
- Comfortable working directly with clients who may be in crisis or under the influence; able to maintain calm, professional and compassionate communication
- Ability to administer Naloxone or other life-saving measures in case of an overdose or medical emergency
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, data systems and reporting tools
- Required certifications upon hire: Brain Story Certification, Naloxone Administration, First Aid & CPR Level C and ASIST
