We are seeking a motivated and curious Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineering Intern to join our team based in our Palo Alto, CA office. In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers to design, analyze and test, features that support our core GNC algorithms and orbital analysis for various spacecraft missions. This internship provides hands-on experience with real-world systems and missions.

Responsibilities:
Technical Analysis & Support
- Assist with analysis of spacecraft attitude control system performance
- Support simulation and modeling of GNC algorithms
- Analyze telemetry data from on-orbit spacecraft
Design & Development
- Support development of GNC flight software components
- Assist with MATLAB/Simulink model development and validation
- Create technical documentation and analysis reports
- Develop test scripts and automation tools
Testing & Validation
- Support GNC hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing activities
- Assist with reaction wheel, star tracker, or gyroscope testing
- Help prepare test procedures and data analysis scripts
- Document test results and anomalies
Collaboration & Learning
- Participate in design reviews and team meetings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Flight Software, Systems Engineering, etc.)
- Present findings to engineering teams
Practical Knowledge Tools
- C / C++ / MATLAB / Simulink / Python / Julia / Git / Gitlab - Github / Linux / Windows / AWS Pipelines
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Aerospace (Space), Astronautics, Mechanical (Dynamics), Electrical (Controls), Physics (Astrodynamics, Orbits), Applied Math or a related field with completion of 2 years or more in a related field. or currently enrolled in a master's degree program in Aerospace (Space), Astronautics, Mechanical (Dynamics), Electrical (Controls), Physics (Astrodynamics, Orbits), Applied Math or a related field
The base pay for this position within California is: $ $31.00 hourly
The salary range listed is based on two years or more of completed studies. This range will vary based on the number of years of experience and work location.
