Business Development Associate

About the Opportunity:

The Business Development Associate is responsible for generating new business opportunities within the K-12 and Higher Education markets. This role involves phone and email outreach to schedule meetings with senior education leaders. It requires effective communication, critical thinking, and strong organizational skills to manage outreach and demonstrate the organization's value. The position offers experience in team collaboration, territory management, and understanding how education leaders use research and grant development to meet strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

• Identify potential new clients aligned with the organization's capabilities

• Craft targeted strategic messages to senior leaders based on their history with the organization, focus areas, and strategic goals

• Make 50+ calls and send 15+ emails daily to secure initial meetings and generate new business

• Maintain a territory and assist an assigned Development Director in achieving annual goals

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferred or relevant experience; all majors accepted

• 0 to 2 years of work experience, including leadership, professional, or internship roles

• Comfortable with cold calling

Compensation:

• On Target Earnings (OTE) of $68,000 per year, including a $50,000 base salary and $18,000 uncapped commission at 100% goal attainment

• Base salary may increase to $55,000 within 6 to 12 months upon consistent goal attainment and promotion to Senior Development Associate

• Base salary contingent on candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
