Summary
Deliver hands-on personal care and basic nursing support under RN supervision, ensuring safety and comfort for clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal care (ADLs): bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, safe transfers, mobility, and feeding — always gentle and respectful.
• Monitor & Document: recognize comfort/skin changes; taking vitals will be required; escalate red-flags promptly.
• Household tasks (IADLs): light housekeeping related to care (linens, laundry, tidy spaces), hydration/meal prep aligned with preferences/diet.
• Companionship: conversation, activities, and empathetic listening to reduce loneliness.
• Care Coordination & Charting: follow the Service Plan precisely; EVV mobile charting for tasks, mood/behavior, and intake/output (if applicable).
• Safety & compliance: infection control/PPE, safe body mechanics, privacy (HIPAA), mandated reporting, and participation in supervisory visits/skills labs.

• They bring composure, patience, and persistence when caring for patients (especially with memory care).
• They are professional and reliable — punctual, prepared, and respectful in clients' homes.

Qualifications

• Active Maine CNA certification in good standing.
• CPR/BLS (or obtained within 30 days of hire) and current TB screening.
• 1+ year CNA/PSS ( home care/ LTC/ hospital) experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment & communication skills.
• Ability to safely assist with transfers and light housekeeping.
• Driver's license + insurance; clear background check.
• Willingness to follow all DHHS and agency policies.
