Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Environmental Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting scientific research, collecting and analyzing environmental data, and supporting project development through technical expertise. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to environmental conservation and sustainable practices, utilizing advanced GIS tools, laboratory techniques, and data analysis skills. The position is full-time and involves collaboration across various environmental projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting ecological health.
Duties
- Performs routine and complex field inspections and studies of sites proposed for investigation including topography, sensitive environmental receptors and exposed geological formations that may have a bearing on the proposed investigation.
- Provides technical supervision on the collection and interpretation of field data.
- Coordinates the full time inspection of geotechnical and hydrogeological site investigations including the supervision of technicians, Environmental Scientist I, drill crews, tank removals and/or the study of pertinent geological data and applicable surface formations.
- Performs geological literature searches and routine and complex analyses. Evaluate the impact on geological formations involved in the excavation of tanks and subsurface investigations.
- Evaluates both routine and complex laboratory and boring data and samples, generates geologic profile rock profiles and prepares data for the inclusion in reports.
- Composes routine and complex hydrogeological reports based on approved workplans including any required recommendations on some routine projects for the approval of a senior scientist
- Prepares proposals on routine and complex projects.
- Supervises the development of the scope of subsurface investigations, geological assessments and other special field or laboratory tests. Assesses the physical and chemical properties of soil and rock formations and other pertinent hydrogeologic conditions.
- Oversees and implements remedial pilot testing
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all field activities, maintaining compliance with environmental regulations.
Experience
- Education – Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
- Experience - 3+ years in environmental science within consulting or remediation.
- Proficiency - Competent in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and ability to work with computerized database searches.
- Technical Knowledge – Proficiency in environmental site assessments, remediation technologies, Phase I/II ESAs, hydrogeology, compliance auditing.
- Certifications – OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER (required), Asbestos/Lead/Mold Certifications, CPR certification, valid driver's license.
Pay: $65, $80,000.00 per year
