Position Summary

The Accounting Coordinator serves as a vital link between Real Life's internal teams and its outsourced accounting partner, ensuring financial processes are efficient, transparent, and aligned with Real Life's mission. This role supports both Real Life Church and Academy operations, helping to maintain financial integrity, facilitate communication, and ensure that accounting practices serve the flourishing of our people and purpose.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaison & Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Real Life and the outsourced accounting firm.

  • Coordinate timely communication, document sharing, and issue resolution between all parties.
  • Facilitate regular check-ins and reporting to ensure alignment with expectations and service standards.

  • Financial Coordination

  • Collect, review, and submit all necessary financial documentation (invoices, receipts, expense reports, etc.) to the accounting firm on behalf of the church and academy

  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

  • Data Management & Integrity

  • Maintain accurate digital records of all submitted and received accounting documents.

  • Ensure the integrity and consistency of financial data across platforms and departments.
  • Support internal audits or reviews by gathering required documentation.

  • Cross-Departmental Support

  • Collaborate with church ministry leaders and academy administrators to ensure seamless financial processes.

  • Assist with onboarding and training of staff regarding expense submission procedures and financial policies.
  • Provide timely responses to finance-related questions from team members.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Experience in accounting coordination, finance administration, or similar roles.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with clarity and consistency.
  • Comfort with cloud-based financial systems (e.g., QuickBooks, , or similar).
  • A high degree of integrity and confidentiality.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a church, school, or nonprofit setting.
  • Understanding of fund accounting principles and nonprofit financial standards.
  • Familiarity with both ministry and educational contexts.
