Job Summary - Dispatch Coordinator

We are expanding and seeking a dynamic and experienced Dispatch Coordinator who has knowledge of OTR dispatching to join our logistics team In this vital role, you will assist in orchestrating the efficient movement of freight and shipments by coordinating with drivers, carriers, and internal departments. Your proactive approach will ensure timely deliveries, optimize transportation workflows, and maintain seamless communication across all stakeholders. If you thrive in a lively setting and excel at multitasking, this is the role for you The Dispatch Coordinator will report to the team leads and will work with a group of drivers to help optimize miles and revenue.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Takes direction from Sr. Load Planner and Team Lead
• Effectively plans loads for truck so all dedicated accounts are covered
• Communicates professionally with drivers, customers and brokers
• Assists in planning loads for drivers to generate maximum revenue
• Always considers driver safety first

Minimum Qualifications

• Only those with a minimum of 12 months experience as a dispatch coordinator with an asset-based over the road motor carrier will be considered.

Knowledge and Abilities

• Fluent English speaking and writing skills, additional languages a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to dissolve disputes through knowledge of company operations and rules
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Knowledge of the United States geographical area
• Excellent multi-tasking, time management and organizational skills
• Knowledge in McLeod Transportation Management System preferred, not required
• Familiar with PC Miler, DAT, Mitel/Shoretel, Omnitracs preferred, but not required
• Highly proficient with Gmail, Gchat, CRM tools and Microsoft Products required
• Know-how with HOS and DOT regulations
• Ability to uphold the highest ethical standards when performing the job
• Highly organized self-starter with the ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Positive, collaborative, flexible, can-do attitude
• Capability in a fast-paced, competitive setting
• Open minded with proven record of accomplishment of solving difficult and stressful situations
• Experience with handling a high-volume phone calls and emails
• Safe working methods

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

• Indoor environment subject to frequent interruptions; changing priorities from time to time
• In-office position, no hybrid or remote
