Overview
Join our medical team as an Ophthalmic Assistant, where your expertise will directly enhance patient care and support our ophthalmology practice. In this role, you will assist the ophthalmologist in providing eye care services, ensuring smooth clinic operations, and creating a welcoming environment for patients of all ages.

Duties

  • Greet patients, verify their information, and facilitate efficient intake process
  • Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation to support clinical assessments
  • Prepare patients for examinations by performing initial eye tests and collecting relevant medical history
  • Assist ophthalmologists during eye exams, including setting up equipment and maintaining aseptic techniques
  • Manage medical records accurately within electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Educate patients on procedures, post-care instructions, and answer basic questions regarding eye health
  • Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, handling patient inquiries, and managing insurance documentation

Requirements

  • Experience in patient care within a medical or ophthalmology preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology related to eye health, and ophthalmic procedures
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
  • Experience with optical equipment, medical coding, billing processes, and EMR systems
  • Ability to perform intake assessments, take vital signs accurately, and maintain aseptic technique during clinical procedures
  • Background in retail and front desk responsibilities is a plus for managing patient interactions effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in medical records management and clinic operations

Pay: $ $22.00 per hour
