Role Overview

We are seeking a
hands-on Datacenter Engineer
to manage the
Secaucus (Equinix)
environment and support a
global private cloud infrastructure
.

This position combines
datacenter operations, Linux system administration (Ubuntu)
,
containerized compute
, and
networking
, ensuring reliability and performance in a
24×7 production environment
.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform
  racking, cabling, hardware installation, upgrades, and maintenance
  .
• Administer
  Linux servers
  (Ubuntu, Red Hat, CentOS) and
  virtualization platforms
  (VMware, KVM, Proxmox).
• Implement and monitor
  infrastructure monitoring tools
  (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, Dynatrace).
• Support
  change management
  , maintenance windows, and
  incident resolution
  .
• Collaborate with the
  network team
  to troubleshoot L1–L3 connectivity issues.
• Use
  Bash, Python, or Ansible
  to automate operational and maintenance tasks.
• Maintain
  security compliance
  , backups, and system hardening standards.

Requirements

• 3+ years
  in data center operations and Linux systems administration.
• Strong hands-on experience with
  hardware assembly, cabling, and troubleshooting
  .
• Knowledge of
  TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP
  .
• Experience with
  monitoring tools
  and
  scripting
  (Bash/Python).
• Excellent
  communication, teamwork, and problem-solving
  skills.
• Ability to lift up to 30 kg and work flexible/on-call hours.
• Driver's license required; travel 1–2× per month
  to the Equinix Secaucus datacenter.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with
  containerization
  (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with
  configuration management tools
  (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Exposure to
  GIT workflows
  ,
  ITIL
  , and
  JIRA
  ticketing.
