We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our busy logistics facility in Durham, North Carolina. This role is crucial for the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse, ensuring timely loading and unloading of trucks, and maintaining organized storage of inventory. The ideal candidate will possess a valid forklift certification, a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures, and the ability to operate various types of forklifts safely and effectively. We are committed to providing a safe working environment, which includes strict adherence to safety regulations and the consistent use of appropriate PPE. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, load, and unload materials safely and efficiently.
- Transport goods from receiving to storage, or from storage to shipping areas.
- Inspect forklift equipment daily before operation, reporting any issues or malfunctions.
- Follow all established safety procedures and warehouse protocols, including those related to loading dock safety and traffic management.
- Maintain accurate inventory records by scanning items and updating the Warehouse Management System (WMS) as needed.
- Organize and store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper stacking and load stability.
- Adhere to all guidelines regarding the proper use of PPE, including hard hats, safety shoes, and high-visibility vests.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as required, such as order picking or general labor when not operating a forklift.
- Ensure the warehouse environment remains clean, organized, and free from hazards.
- Comply with all OSHA regulations and company safety policies related to forklift operation and general logistics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification (e.g., OSHA-compliant).
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with WMS and RF scanning devices is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics setting.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and consistently wearing PPE.
