We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Technician for our Grand Rapids, Michigan location. This role is crucial for the operational efficiency and maintenance of our warehouse equipment and systems, supporting our extensive logistics network. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machinery, including forklifts, conveyor belts, and automated systems. Ensuring the safety and optimal performance of all equipment is paramount. This includes strict adherence to safety protocols and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance on all warehouse equipment and machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Ensure all equipment meets safety regulations and operational standards.
- Install and set up new equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and operational disruptions promptly.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory management and material handling tasks when required.
- Train other staff on the basic operation and care of equipment.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and safety.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications in relevant fields are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician in a warehouse or industrial environment.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of machinery.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Knowledge of industrial safety standards and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including Lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a plus.
