Job Summary:
Seeking a reliable Material Handler for our significant logistics facility in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the flow of materials within the warehouse, ensuring items are correctly stored, moved, and prepared for dispatch. Your expertise in handling diverse materials and operating warehouse equipment is essential to maintaining our operational efficiency. Responsibilities:
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment to move materials.
  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Store materials in designated locations, maintaining organization and accessibility.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any maintenance issues.
  • Adhere to all company Safety procedures and regulations.
  • Ensure the proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock checks.
  • Perform tasks that require significant Lifting, up to 50 lbs frequently.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to meet operational demands.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
  • Certification and experience operating forklifts are highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of warehouse Safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to perform heavy Lifting and manual material handling.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Dependability and a strong work ethic.
  • Familiarity with various types of warehouse equipment.
  • Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
