Day shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with flexibility
As a technical expert, the Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the advanced design, assembly, and installation of complex industrial equipment . They serve as a technical reference , contribute to strategic design decisions , and actively support manufacturing, assembly, and continuous improvement of equipment.

In this role, your main responsibilities will include:
Designing and developing complete industrial equipment, from conceptual phase to production;
Creating advanced 3D CAD models of parts, sub-assemblies, and mechanical systems (SolidWorks);
Supervising, coaching, and acting as a technical mentor to engineers, designers, and mechanics;
Integrating Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) principles from the outset;
Performing and validating tolerance analyses, mechanical calculations, and simulations;
Validating designs through technical reviews, functional tests, and performance evaluations;
Identifying, proposing, and implementing technical improvements on existing equipment;
Supporting and optimizing manufacturing, assembly, and industrialization processes;
Analyzing and solving complex technical problems in collaboration with production;
Optimizing equipment to enhance performance, reliability, and production efficiency;
Designing and preparing test benches for technical validation;
Managing the procurement of mechanical components, including supplier selection, cost negotiation, and lead times;
Actively participating in the physical assembly of prototypes and equipment;
Contributing to project planning (schedules, budgets, technical priorities).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering;
Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ);
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and industrial equipment design within a manufacturing environment;
Proven ability to manage complex, multidisciplinary projects;
Excellent proficiency in SolidWorks;
Advanced expertise in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T);
Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and technical leadership;
Availability to travel occasionally within Quebec, Ontario, and the United States (≈20%);
Bilingual in French/English, both spoken and written (English required for U.S. clients).
Assets / Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience in mechanical fabrication: welding, machining, metalworking;
Strong experience in production ramp-up, industrialization, and manufacturing support;
Knowledge of the concrete industry (asset; training provided).
