Safe Passage is DeKalb County's only domestic and sexual violence agency. We are hiring a Human Resources Manager. This position plans, directs, and coordinates Safe Passage's HR functions, handling everything from recruiting, assisting with hiring, and onboarding to benefits, employee relations, training, performance management, and ensuring legal compliance. HR Manager will act as a link between management and staff, developing policies, fostering a positive culture, and aligning HR strategies with business goals to attract, develop, and retain talent. HR Manager will be knowledgeable and stay up to date with labor laws.

This position routinely handles highly sensitive and/or confidential information and will represent Safe Passage in a variety of capacities. Must demonstrate good, independent judgment, an ability to be approachable and professional, solid problem-solving skills, an ability to handle multiple tasks, an ability to be self-motivated and well organized, and maintain strict confidentiality.

Essential Functions

· Recruitment & Hiring

o Overseeing job postings, assist with interviews and selection, and new hire orientation.

o Writing job descriptions and placing job ads.

o Maintain an application process and ensure background and reference checks for new and prospective employees.

· Compensation & Benefits

o Assist Executive Director with managing pay structures and benefits administration.

· Employee Relations

o Mediating conflicts, handling grievances, and ensuring a positive work environment.

o Conduct stay and exit interviews.

· Training & Development

o Creating programs for skill enhancement, performance, and career growth.

  • Creating and implementing supervisor training.

· Policy & Compliance

o Developing, updating, and enforcing HR policies and ensuring adherence to labor laws.

  • Creating and maintaining an employee handbook and supervisory handbook.

· Performance Management

o Implementing systems for appraisals and high performance.

  • Cross-training managers on feedback and performance.

· Strategy & Culture

o Aligning HR initiatives with business objectives and building company culture.

  • Implementing employee engagement practices.
  • Reporting HR metrics to management.

o Acts as liaison with attorney for HR related situations and to EAP Program.

Required Education and Experience

· Bachelor's degree in human resource or related field

· Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in human resources.

Preferred Education and Experience

· SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.

· Demonstrate an understanding of federal laws and regulations applying to HR functions.

Pay: From $61,000.00 per year
