Title: Senior AI/ML Engineer

Summary of Role

As a Senior AI /ML Engineer, you'll play a critical role in turning cutting-edge models into real-world tools that transform how the heavy building materials industry operates. You'll be part of a team tasked with bringing AI-powered intelligence into the core of our product ecosystem — from delivery logistics to document processing to predicting customer behavior.

This is a hands-on engineering role, ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of AI, software engineering, and production deployment. You'll work closely with our Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Platform Engineers to prototype, build, and deploy intelligent systems — while also influencing architecture and best practices from day one.

Candidates must be authorized to work in and currently reside in the United States.

How You'll Succeed

AI/ML Engineering

  • Contribute to end-to-end ML, deep learning, and AI system development — from data pipelines to model training to integration with product UIs.

  • Develop deep learning models using TensorFlow, PyTorch, and other frameworks where needed (e.g., for vision or language-based use cases).

  • Continuously evaluate new techniques in deep learning, LLM orchestration, and applied MLOps to keep our systems cutting-edge.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with software developers and product managers to integrate AI solutions into our operational products.

Production Deployment & MLOps

  • Build and maintain scalable, secure, and observable model inference services.

  • Build robust and scalable inference services, model APIs, and deployment workflows in SageMaker or similar environments.

  • Support secure deployment of serverless and containerized AI services (Lambda, ECS/EKS, or equivalent), including network segmentation and encryption-in-transit/at-rest.

DevSecOps & Platform Enablement

  • Design and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines for AI/ML workloads, including model training, validation, and deployment.

  • Implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation to provision secure, repeatable cloud environments.

  • Partner with Security and Platform teams to enforce identity, access management (IAM), secrets management, and least-privilege policies across AI services.

  • Monitor and harden production AI services using logging, alerting, and runtime security tooling (e.g., CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, GuardDuty, or equivalents).

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience building and deploying ML and deep learning models in production settings.

  • Proficiency in Python, with hands-on experience using Scikit-Learn as well as TensorFlow or PyTorch.

  • Practical experience working with LLMs — including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, or integrating models like OpenAI, Claude, or open-source LLMs into production workflows.

  • Experience using AWS SageMaker and Bedrock or equivalent cloud-based AI/ML platforms.

  • (Preferred) Some frontend familiarity (React or similar) to support integration into product UIs.

  • Experience deploying AI solutions in a serverless cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and data stakeholders.
