Certified Recovery Home – Ohio

Position Summary

The House Manager is responsible for the daily operations, structure, and safety of a Certified Recovery Home in Ohio. This role supports residents in early recovery by maintaining a stable, drug-free living environment, enforcing house policies, and promoting accountability, peer support, and personal responsibility.

The House Manager serves as a leader and role model within the home, ensuring compliance with Ohio Recovery Housing (ORH) standards, OhioMHAS requirements, and organizational policies and procedures.

Key ResponsibilitiesResident Support & Accountability

  • Orient new residents to house rules, expectations, and recovery standards
  • Monitor resident compliance with house policies, curfews, substance-free requirements, and participation expectations
  • Facilitate or oversee regular house meetings and promote peer accountability
  • Provide guidance, support, and conflict resolution while maintaining appropriate boundaries
  • Support residents in developing daily structure, routines, and life skills

Operations & Safety

  • Oversee day-to-day house operations, cleanliness, and safety
  • Conduct routine walk-throughs to ensure the residence remains well maintained and compliant
  • Coordinate basic maintenance needs and report larger issues to program leadership
  • Ensure adherence to emergency procedures and safety protocols
  • Maintain an orderly, respectful, and recovery-oriented living environment

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure the recovery home operates in accordance with ORH certification standards and OhioMHAS guidelines
  • Maintain required documentation including resident agreements, incident reports, and house logs
  • Conduct or coordinate drug and alcohol screenings in accordance with house policy
  • Report incidents, rule violations, and resident concerns to leadership in a timely and professional manner

Coordination & Communication

  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for residents
  • Communicate regularly with leadership regarding house operations and resident needs
  • Coordinate with outpatient providers, case managers, and recovery supports as appropriate
  • Maintain professional communication with neighbors, landlords, and community stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of sustained recovery strongly preferred (if applicable)
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Ability to model healthy recovery behavior and leadership
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Ability to enforce rules fairly, consistently, and respectfully
  • Commitment to confidentiality and professional boundaries

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in recovery housing or peer-support environments
  • Familiarity with Ohio Recovery Housing (ORH) standards
  • Experience conducting or overseeing drug screenings
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Schedule & Role Structure

  • Position may be live-in or non-live-in, depending on program needs
  • Evening, overnight, weekend, and on-call availability may be required
  • Live-in role includes adherence to all house policies and expectations

IMPORTANT POSITION AVAILABILITY & START DATE NOTICE

  • Anticipated employment start date: March 1, 2026
  • For candidates selected for a live-in House Manager role, there may be an opportunity to move into the residence prior to March 1, 2026 for orientation, onboarding, and transition purposes.
  • Formal employment duties and compensation will begin on or around March 1, 2026, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

Pay: $40, $50,000.00 per year
