Outpatient Pediatric Occupational Therapist - Part-Time

Pay: $36–$45/hr (includes paid paperwork and paid cancellations)
Status: Exempt | Part-Time
Reports To: Director of Therapy Services

General Function

The Occupational Therapist provides skilled evaluation, treatment, and discharge of pediatric clients while ensuring best practices in therapy planning, documentation, and family engagement. This role includes participation in both individual and group therapy programming. This role supports interdisciplinary collaboration and caregiver education.

Essential Functions

  • Co-lead structured group therapy sessions targeting communication, sensory-motor, and social-emotional goals for school-aged children.
  • Participate in continuous program development and contribute to team discussions to improve overall group therapy design and outcomes.
  • Evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practice.
  • Incorporate hippotherapy and clinic-based interventions to address fine-motor, sensory, self-care, and play skills.
  • Collaborate with caregivers and interdisciplinary team members to promote goal attainment and home carryover.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system.
  • Participate in mentorship, staff development, and student training as assigned.
  • Represent TherAplay at events, outreach activities, and professional education opportunities.
  • Integrate movement-based, play-based, and equine-assisted activities to enhance engagement and skill generalization.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (OT, PT, SLP, Social Work, Interns) to align approaches and ensure coordinated care.
  • Track attendance, progress, and outcomes in the EMR system and contribute to program evaluation.
  • Engage caregivers through education and feedback to reinforce skill carryover at home.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Current Indiana OT license (required)
  • CPR/First Aid certification and professional liability insurance ($1M/$3M)
  • Pediatric experience preferred
  • AHA Hippotherapy Level I or II preferred

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, walk up to 10 miles per day, and work safely around horses. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling required.
