We are seeking a Cyber Technical Principal Associate who is passionate about cryptography and emerging technologies to join our team. As a Principal Associate, you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving major data protection transformation work within Capital One.

What you'll do: *
- Develop robust cryptographic solutions, designing, and implementing encryption, hashing, and digital signature algorithms to protect sensitive data. This involves selecting appropriate primitives, managing keys securely, and integrating solutions into enterprise offerings
- Drive diverse technology projects as part of a team of engineers and developers with deep experience in cryptography, distributed microservices, and full stack systems to create solutions that help meet regulatory needs for the company
- Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code
- Collaborate with Cyber product managers and architecture to deliver comprehensive cloud-based solutions that deliver security features to help millions of Americans protect their financial services.
- Assess security risks, especially for data confidentiality and integrity, by identifying vulnerabilities and understanding crypto cyber threat impacts
- Mature and enhance governance framework for cryptography across the enterprise. This involves clear policies, standards, and guidelines for internal and external teams, ensuring consistency, compliance, and auditability
- Utilize pipelines automation and programming languages like JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes
- Work with Cloud and AWS technologies; such as, EC2, RDS, KMS, CloudHSM, Lambda, and Fargate
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
- At least 3 years of experience in Cyber Security or information technology
- At least 2 years of Cryptography experience
- At least 2 years with HSMs (Hardware Security Modules) experience
- At least 2 years of experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP or other cloud services
- At least 2 years experience in Unix or Linux system administration
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years of Cyber Security Engineering experience or information technology
- 4+ experience using security tools and frameworks (SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners)
- 2+ experience with coding and scripting in Python, SQL, Java, JavaScript, Golang, Bash, Perl or Ruby
