Position: Sanitation Assistant
Schedule: 5:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Role Overview:
Sanitation Assistants are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant production environment at Deli Star. This includes performing sanitation tasks in production areas, verifying sanitation documentation, practicing chemical awareness and safe handling, and ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations. By supporting food safety and regulatory standards, this role plays a vital part in keeping our operations running smoothly and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sanitation Execution

  • Safely follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and use all required protective equipment

  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble production equipment and tools

  • Clean and sanitize production areas, tools, and equipment daily

  • Prepare the facility for next-day production

  • Conduct detailed post-operation inspections to verify sanitation standards

  • Ensure all safety procedures are followed consistently, including PPE and equipment safeguards

  1. Sanitation Documentation

  • Complete and verify daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks in accordance with SSOPs

  • Maintain accurate sanitation records, ensuring all activities are documented

  • Support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) related to food safety and quality

  • Perform and document post-operation inspections as required

  1. Compliance & Workplace Conduct

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and maintain compliance with USDA, SQF, FDA, and company standards

  • Promote a safety-first culture in all job duties

  • Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment

  • Demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, and effective communication with peers and supervisors

  1. Additional Support

  • Assist other personnel with daily operations as needed

  • Partner with the quality assurance team to achieve high sanitation and safety standards

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production and facility needs

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma with 2 years related job experience

  • Experience with sanitation, or manufacturing environment preferred

  • Must have good problem identification and problem-solving skills 

  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Must be able to reach, pull, and lift up to 50lbs

  • Must be able to walk or stand majority of shift

  • Must be able to work in a cold, damp to hot, wet, and humid environments

  • Frequent sustained lifting, sometimes overhead

  • Repetitive and/or frequent sustained reaching, twisting, bending, and stooping
