Muskegon Surgical Associates has been dedicated to providing comprehensive surgical care to patients since 1972. We are an independently owned multi-specialty practice consisting of 13 surgeons and 110 employees.
*Responsibilities*
* Conduct thorough patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
* Assist in diagnostic evaluations by ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
* Provide acute care management for patients with complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, or chronic illnesses within hospital or ofice based settings.
* Administer medications and injections safely while adhering to aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations.
* Perform procedures including suturing, wound care, intubation, ventilator management, and other invasive interventions as required.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop discharge plans, coordinate post-acute care, and ensure seamless patient transitions across care settings.
* Maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems like eClinicalWorks or Cerner while ensuring compliance with coding standards such as CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9.
*Skills*
* Extensive experience with EMR systems including Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks.
* Critical care experience in ICU or Level I/II trauma centers with skills in airway management and ventilator support.
* Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques.
* Ability to perform suturing, phlebotomy, dialysis access management, and other procedural skills confidently.
* Experience administering injections and managing acute pain or hospice & palliative medicine cases.
* Familiarity with CPT coding for billing purposes along with ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9).
* Knowledge of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques within hospital or outpatient environments.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
