Join a long‑established Engineering Design Consultancy with strong skills in Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, Product Design, and Analysis. Serving diverse markets from Industrial and Automotive to Waste Recycling Plants. We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design, analysis, and development of complex mechanical systems and products.
Responsibilities
Lead the design, analysis, and development of complex mechanical systems and products
Take ownership of major projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, cost‑effective, and manufacturable solutions
Oversee and contribute to prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical designs
Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., EMC, safety, RoHS)
Participate in and lead design reviews, risk assessments, and root cause analysis
Work with cross‑functional teams (electrical, software, manufacturing, QA) to ensure seamless product integration
Support continuous improvement in engineering standards, processes, and documentation
Experiences / Qualifications
Has experience in leading the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies and systems from concept through to production
Is experienced in creating detailed 3D CAD models (SolidWorks), engineering drawings and technical documentation
Can conduct and review engineering calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) for strength, thermal, and dynamic performance
Practical workshop build, assembly and prototyping
Can guide junior engineers and provide technical mentorship
