Senior/Principal Hardware Engineer

Location: Rochester

Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 per annum

As a Senior/Principal Hardware Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping innovative hardware solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Executing complex hardware design tasks aligned with our development plan, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
• Conducting hardware requirements capture and detailed design, including a variety of analysis tasks.
• Embracing an innovative mindset to enhance design processes and improve working practices.
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize solutions and minimize dependencies.
• Providing technical guidance for the development and delivery of digital and/or analogue electronics solutions.
• Coaching and developing junior team members to foster their skills.
• Delivering design artifacts that meet both company and industry standards.

Essential:

• Degree/HND in electronics engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Proven knowledge and experience in digital and/or analogue electronics technologies.
• Experience navigating the engineering development lifecycle, from concept to product certification.
• Strong understanding of cost and schedule constraints impacting design decisions.
• Ability to provide sound engineering judgment throughout the development lifecycle.
• Robust understanding of product design and work package control.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise.
• Experience with analogue simulation tools like Simetrix or Spice.
• Knowledge of system development tools such as Enterprise Architect, Matlab, or Simulink.
