Salary: Starting at £60,000, with potential for more based on your experience.
What You’ll Be Doing:As a Principal Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and integrity of our nuclear site assets. Your responsibilities will include:
- Authoring and managing design substantiation documentation to support the site nuclear safety case.
- Reviewing analyses, assessments, and calculations related to nuclear design substantiation.
- Supporting periodic safety reviews.
- Taking ownership of deliverables, showcasing your autonomy and leadership.
- Implementing design substantiation requirements effectively.
- Collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Site Safety Case, Human Factors, and Engineering Authority Teams.
- Mentoring and developing other team members in Nuclear Substantiation.
- Engaging with the wider business on nuclear design substantiation activities.
Essential:
- Experience in the nuclear industry and familiarity with nuclear safety regulations.
- A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven ability to produce high-quality technical reports.
- A determined approach to driving deliverables through to completion.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Desirable:
- A broad understanding of multiple engineering disciplines.
- Chartered Engineer status from the Engineering Council and membership in a relevant professional body.
- Experience in nuclear design substantiation analysis and assessment.
