Our Chicago, Illinois facility is looking for a reliable and hardworking Material Handler to join our logistics team. As a Material Handler, you will be essential to the movement of goods within our warehouse, ensuring that materials are transferred efficiently and safely to their correct destinations. Your responsibilities will include loading and unloading materials, operating material handling equipment, and keeping work areas organized and clean. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will be a team player with experience in a warehouse or industrial setting. We pride ourselves on maintaining a safe working environment, and strict adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE, is mandatory. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials onto trucks, pallets, and other equipment.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory management and stocktaking.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Inspect materials for damage and report any issues.
- Receive and process incoming materials.
- Perform basic maintenance and checks on equipment.
- Support other warehouse staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in operating material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Familiarity with WMS is a plus.
- Good physical stamina and ability to work in a demanding environment.
