Become a Material Handler at our dynamic facility in Des Moines, Iowa! This critical role ensures the smooth flow of materials throughout our operations, supporting our expansive **logistics** network. You will be responsible for handling, moving, and organizing materials to meet production and distribution demands, always prioritizing **safety**.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming materials, verifying against purchase orders.
- Transport materials to and from various departments using appropriate equipment.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles with care and efficiency.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage areas.
- Ensure the **safe** operation of all material handling equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Adhere to strict **safety** protocols and wear all required **PPE**.
- Perform regular checks on inventory levels and assist with cycle counting.
- Be prepared for tasks involving **Lifting** of materials, following proper techniques.
- Contribute to a clean and orderly work environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar **logistics** role is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment proficiently and **safely**.
- Understanding of warehouse **safety** regulations and the importance of **PPE**.
- Physical capability to handle frequent **Lifting** of items weighing up to 55 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with good communication skills.
