We have an excellent opportunity for a Shipping Clerk at our distribution center in Durham, North Carolina. In this role, you will be integral to our logistics chain, ensuring all outbound shipments are meticulously prepared and processed. Your responsibilities will include managing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate records. If you possess strong administrative skills and a dedication to operational Safety, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Generate and affix shipping labels, manifests, and other required documentation.
- Verify outbound orders against shipping paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
- Schedule and coordinate with various shipping carriers for timely pickups.
- Properly package and prepare shipments for transit, ensuring product integrity.
- Utilize shipping software and systems to track shipments and manage logistics data.
- Maintain an organized and efficient shipping station, adhering to Safety standards.
- Conduct final quality checks on all outgoing packages.
- Follow all company Safety protocols and procedures diligently.
- Wear and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and other departments to streamline the shipping process.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree is a plus.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related administrative role.
- Proficiency with computers, shipping software, and data entry.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to handle minor physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 30 pounds.
- Familiarity with warehouse Safety procedures.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Must adhere to all PPE requirements.
- Knowledge of freight and parcel shipping procedures.
