SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary:$96,304 - $107,051 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
Benefits: Our comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance with five different plans, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, voluntary insurance options, and a supplemental life program. Employees are entitled to sick time, vacation time, bereavement days, holidays, and longevity pay. Flexible spending accounts (FSA) or healthcare savings accounts (HSA) are available based on the elected medical plan. Additionally, retirement savings plans are provided through the State of Michigan Office of Retirement Services (ORS). These benefits are available after just one full day of employment.

ROLE AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The Information Systems Support Supervisor oversees the support for the information systems hosted and supported by Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD), GenNET and Shared Data Services (SDS). Responsible for investigating new technologies and facilitating use in application areas including, but not limited to financial, payroll/personnel, productivity and student services applications. Provides leadership in the management of data across multiple platforms and in state-of-the-art system designs that are cost effective, efficient solutions which meet the information needs of the districts. Supervises and evaluates staff in the assigned area.
Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to):
Provides leadership in the management of data systems for GenNET, SDS, and GISD.
Responsible for investigating new technologies and facilitating use in application areas including, but not limited to financial, payroll/personnel, productivity and student services applications
Provides technical support and consultation to GISD, SDS, and constituent district staff as it relates to effective data management applications.
Provides leadership in the management of data across multiple platforms.
Models effective problem solving and troubleshooting techniques.
Participates in complex project tasks.
Develops plans, policies and procedures to maximize use of data management and software applications.
Supervises and evaluates staff in the assigned area.
Seeks to help staff remain technologically current and receive appropriate ongoing training.
Ensures customer expectations are met or exceeded related to Information Systems Helpdesk requests.
Works with the Technical Services Supervisor to monitor Helpdesk requests.
Seeks to build positive morale among team members.
Responsible for developing an environment that efficiently and effectively supports data management systems to include oversight and documentation of processes.
Works with the Technical Services Supervisor to establish data backup and recovery procedures for critical data systems.
Works with TMS Leadership to select applications; oversee installation and training, maintain inventory and upgrade policies; set appropriate access levels and enforce security.
Oversees the maintenance of the district web page.
Works with TMS Leadership and Business Services to create and evaluate RFPs related to Information Systems.
Consistently models Win-Win leadership.
Other Duties:
Represents the department on various local, state and national planning committees, as assigned.
Participates in budget development and implementation.
Participates in the development of pricing models.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred.
Experience:
Minimum three years recent experience in project management and/or management of Information Systems required. Prefer experience in an educational setting. Successful experience supervising and evaluating staff preferred. Experience designing and implementing test plans and verification methods. Demonstrated initiative in long-range planning and team leadership.
Skills/Other:
Ability to assess requirements of customers and make recommendations for implementation of information/application support systems. Ability to coordinate and/or participate in development and implementation of operational policy plans for the integration of all departmental information/application support systems. Ability to administer training in a variety of information management and productivity software applications to include Microsoft, SchoolsOPEN and mail packages. Knowledge of computer programming and systems analysis/design principles and practices, as well as operating systems. Ability to think logically and solve problems in a timely and efficient manner. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret media, manuals, reference materials, technical journals, and abstracts. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively represent the department in a professional manner. Ability to exercise diplomacy and tact. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of staff and customers. Ability to use computers and other technologies to accomplish job responsibilities. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and to assimilate new knowledge quickly and effectively. Ability to lead teams and inspire teamwork. Demonstrated mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the essential duties of the position and the ability to travel to and from the intermediate school district and constituent school districts in the service area. Punctuality and good attendance are requirements for the position. Ability to work a flexible work day, work week, and work year. Ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions in accordance with board policies and established administrative guidelines.
