About the Opportunity:
This organization is focused on modernizing insurance claims processing by providing large insurers with software solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy. The role involves advancing a rapidly scaling Messaging platform that supports high-volume, reliable communication across products, with emphasis on backend architecture, APIs, data models, and AI/LLM integrations.
Responsibilities:
• Own major backend components of the Messaging platform, including business logic, APIs, data models, and supporting infrastructure.
• Design, build, test, and ship high-quality production code using TypeScript and GraphQL.
• Architect and implement scalable messaging workflows to handle increasing volume, complexity, and new product use cases.
• Build and maintain production-level AI/LLM integrations involving message orchestration, prompt execution, response handling, and system observability.
• Design and optimize Postgres schemas and queries to support messaging state, auditing, and performance at scale.
• Implement testing, monitoring, and observability practices to improve reliability, performance, and developer velocity.
• Create reusable abstractions and internal tooling to accelerate and secure product development across the platform.
Requirements:
• 8 or more years of backend or full-stack engineering experience, preferably in SaaS environments.
• Strong experience building backend services with TypeScript and GraphQL in production.
• Hands-on expertise with relational databases, especially Postgres, including data modeling and performance tuning.
• Experience shipping and operating AI/LLM-powered features in production with focus on reliability, monitoring, and iteration.
• Proven ability to design and scale robust backend systems.
• Solid engineering fundamentals in distributed systems, APIs, and data modeling.
• Collaborative mindset and experience working cross-functionally with product, infrastructure, and data teams.
