Minimum Qualifications:
- Ordination or recognized certification as a Chaplain or equivalent spiritual care provider.
- Experience in grief counseling and pastoral care within a healthcare or community setting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage volunteers and develop spiritual care programs.
- Strong understanding of patient rights and ethical considerations in pastoral counseling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced training or certification in psychotherapy or pastoral counseling.
- Experience working in a hospital, hospice, or similar healthcare environment.
- Background in program development and stewardship of resources.
- Familiarity with interdisciplinary team collaboration and healthcare protocols.
- Multilingual abilities or experience serving multicultural communities.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized pastoral counseling and grief support to patients, families, and staff.
- Develop, coordinate, and lead spiritual care programs and volunteer initiatives within the organization.
- Advocate for patient rights and ensure that spiritual care respects diverse cultural and religious backgrounds.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and interdisciplinary teams to integrate pastoral care into overall patient treatment plans.
- Make independent decisions regarding the delivery of spiritual care while maintaining ethical standards and confidentiality.
