We are hiring a dedicated Forklift Operator for our busy warehouse in New York City, New York. This position plays a vital role in our daily logistics operations, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to load, unload, and relocate materials, as well as assisting with general warehouse duties. A strong commitment to safety, adherence to operational procedures, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential. We are looking for someone who can contribute to a productive and safe workflow, ensuring timely deliveries and efficient stock management.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring accuracy and minimizing damage to goods.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on forklifts, reporting any issues.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, put-away, and order picking.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety regulations.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on safety.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times, including safety shoes and vests.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes as directed.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of our logistics network through diligent work.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience operating forklifts is required; valid certification preferred.
- Ability to perform lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Strong understanding of basic logistics operations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and the use of PPE.
